myID is the Digital ID application developed by the Australian Government, previously known as myGovID. With over 12 million Australians utilizing this platform, myID offers a secure and efficient method for verifying one’s identity when accessing various government online services.

Functioning similarly to the traditional 100-point ID check, myID allows users to authenticate their identity using their smart devices without the need to present physical identification documents. This streamlining of the identity verification process eliminates the inconvenience of managing multiple usernames and passwords.

The app provides access to more than 140 online services across federal, state, and territory governments. Following initial setup, users can further enhance their security by enabling biometric features such as fingerprint or facial recognition, thereby protecting personal information and minimizing unauthorized access.
